On August 9, 2023, ALDI received the German Packaging Award 2023 in the Sustainability category thanks to its TANDIL 3-in-1 box, which is made of 92% recycled materials.
Since 1963 the German Packaging Award, organised by the German Packaging Institute, has honoured outstanding creative and intelligent packaging innovations.
The TANDIL 3-in-1 Active Caps and Colour Caps packaging is developed almost entirely of recycled plastic from the recycling bin, making it another milestone in ALDI's packaging mission.

ALDI SÜD Germany is putting its own brand product packaging to the test by improving it in terms of circularity and sustainability. The packaging of the TANDIL 3-in-1 Caps was created as part of the strategic partnership between ALDI and the dual system Interseroh+ from the recycling service provider Interzero. This effort is a step towards the ALDI SOUTH Group Vision 2030, whereby 2025, ALDI aims for its own-brand plastic packaging to contain 30% recycled content.
