CR Principles

Our Approach

Simplicity, Consistency, Responsibility – these are our core values. Our business model is simple: great quality at the best price, fair and honest product offers, and efficient business processes. In all we do, we assume responsibility towards our customers, business partners, employees, the community, and the environment.

Our Corporate Responsibility (CR) Principles summarise our commitments to people and planet. They guide all of us in our day-to-day actions and are a strict requirement of our business partners.

Our Principles

We offer our customers quality at the best price and sustainable products.

We promise our customers quality products at the best prices, we are guided by our customers’ needs and it is our responsibility to design our select product range in a way that meets our customers’ everyday needs.

For us, quality includes consumer safety, health and well-being, and the sustainability of our products and their production. We want to enable our customers to make informed choices by providing them with accurate and transparent information through clear communications.

We assume responsibility throughout the supply chain.

Sustainable buying practices are essential for the long-term success of our business. We assume responsibility across our global supply chains and for the resources used in the production of our goods.

Our aspiration is that all our products be made in a sustainable way and we consider environmental and social criteria throughout our product supply chains – from raw materials to final production. For our suppliers, we are a fair and reliable business partner and together with other stakeholders, we are committed to improving the living and working conditions throughout the supply chain. Our “ALDI Business Partner Sustainability Standards” constitute an integral part of our supplier contracts.

Our employees are the key to our success.

Our employees are the key to our success. They are the ones that define the ALDI business day after day and distinguish us from our competitors. For ALDI to continue on the path of success, we want to be the employer of choice within the retail sector and to attract talented professionals who work together with us to further develop the global market.

We are committed to ensuring that each employee receives the opportunity for individual personal growth and further development – irrespective of their origin, religion and ideology, age, gender, disability, or sexual orientation. Together, we establish a culture of learning and personal development.

We see ourselves as an active member of the community and are committed to many local projects.

ALDI is part of the community. To us, responsibility means making a positive contribution to the community by applying our skills and resources beyond our core business operations. The objective of our community activities is to deliver a sustainable societal impact. This will be achieved by engaging in long-term partnerships with charitable organisations and focusing on key issues and target groups.

We support charitable organisations with donations of money and products. Furthermore, we support charitable organisations by using other resources available to us, including the time and skills of our employees.

We act responsibly in terms of the environment and work to protect our earth’s climate.

Our business activities have a significant impact on climate and the environment. This is a result of not only of the products we sell, but of our entire operations, from the construction and operational running of buildings to the transport of goods.

We aim to minimise the ecological footprint of our entire business. We strive to become a climate-neutral company and are therefore committed to the continuous reduction of our greenhouse gas emissions. Aspiring towards zero-waste business practices, we are guided by the principle to reduce, reuse, and recycle.
