Contributing to society: Community stories from across the ALDI world

ALDI is part of the community. To us, responsibility means making a positive contribution to the community by applying our skills and resources beyond our core business operations.

US: Partnering with ‘Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’

From the humble beginning of a front yard lemonade stand, four-year-old Alexandra “Alex” Scott turned Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) into an organisation focused on funding impactful research to help fight childhood cancer. ALDI is asking its customers to help make a difference by donating to the Foundation. This part of the ALDI “Pay Your Quarter Forward” initiative, supporting national and community organizations with a focus on health and wellness.

UK: Raising millions for teenage cancer trust

Teenage Cancer Trust supports young people aged 13-24 living with cancer. Through their work they support patients living with cancer, as well as parents, teachers and employers to raise awareness of early warning signs and treatments. Our national charity partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust began in 2017. Thanks to the #EverydayAmazing efforts, from running to baking, cycling to skydiving, our customers and colleagues have exceeded the £4 million donation mark two years sooner than expected!

SWITZERLAND: Saving lives with blood donation campaign

Four out of five people need at least one blood donation in their lives. But only a fraction of the population regularly donate blood. For the fourth time in a row, ALDI SUISSE and the Swiss Red Cross raised awareness and motivated employees and community members to donate blood. 80 blood donors contributed to saving lives on this day.

GERMANY: Protecting the environment with waste collection campaign

The waste collection campaign took place in cooperation with the Clean River Project that are committed to cleaning rivers and oceans around the world. In May, 120 employees worked hard to clean up part of Mühlheim an der Ruhr and collected over 130 bags of rubbish.

AUSTRALIA: Supporting children charity Barnardos Australia for 16 years

Since 2003, ALDI Australia has been providing Barnardos Australia - one of the leading children’s charities in the country - with donations of toys, books, clothing, furniture, and funds in support of their vital mission: Keeping kids safe.
