ALDI commits to the Sustainable Coffee Challenge to have over 50% of its coffee products certified by 2025

Nothing better than fresh coffee: The ALDI SOUTH Group publishes a commitment to increase its share of certified coffee products to over 50% by 2025.  By sourcing certified coffee products, ALDI can reassure our customers that we are supporting coffee growing communities and actively protecting biodiversity.

We believe that the greatest impact in the coffee sector can be achieved through collaboration. The Sustainable Coffee Challenge (SCC) is a collaboration of businesses, governments, civil society organisations, and research institutions who aim to make the coffee sector fully sustainable. Recognising the need for more ambitious and transparent sustainability commitments, the SCC agreed on a collective commitment to make the coffee sector sustainable by 2050. This will be achieved by improving livelihoods and prosperity, building resilient supply, conserving nature and strengthening market demand for sustainable coffee.

ALDI has now committed to increase the share of certified ALDI exclusive brand coffee products to over 50% by 2025, accepting Fairtrade, Fairtrade USA, Rainforest Alliance/UTZ and organic certification.

This is just another way we are making sustainability affordable. We look forward to bringing even more sustainable and responsibly sourced products into everybody’s household and coffee cup.

Our commitment as well as those from other members can be found on the SCC’s Website.
